The Pommery Champagne Afternoon Tea, Hilton London Green Park - Mayfair
HALF MOON STREET, MAYFAIR, LONDON, W1J 7BN
My Friends Are Posh Too- part 2
This was another tea I wasn't at but as you can see friends are now keen to share all their tea experiences that I'm not at and cause me afternoon tea envy!
I did some research and found myself immediately liking the description
Relax in the modern and intimate surroundings of the Berry Bar & Lounge at the Hilton London Green Park hotel. Experience two great British traditions within the contemporary environment of this Green Park bar, which specialises in a unique choice of gins and a serves a fantastic range of afternoon teas, including the original Gin Afternoon Tea. Take a seat in our light flooded conservatory and enjoy London, regardless of the weather.
So what did the lovely Miss R have to say ?
The afternoon tea was lovely and I ordered extra champagne too - It was delicious.
The Twinings tea selection was brought to us (the jars are all the teas) to have a smell and choose and you could have as many as you wanted. The staff were lovely.
One lady offered to take pictures of us without us having to ask which I loved.
We were seated near a window which was nice - Nan said it was a lovely view as she had been worried there would be lots of traffic outside.
We had a timer which would tell you the perfect time for when you should drink your tea. As you can see the sand timer has three colours, one for those having fruity tea , one for black teas and one for white tea.
There was a handle gadget on the tea pot lid where you released the tea into water, so you have the perfect cup and strength.
The scones were definitely fluffy and still warm.
I did request no pork in the sandwiches and they were fine. There were salmon, egg and chicken. We didn't ask for more as we were full! (but at only £3.50 very reasonable for extra if required)
Well you've convinced me R even if to experience smelling the jars of tea. The sand timers is a detail I haven't seen before, and as a keen gin and tonic fan might well have to go an experience that Gin tea !
Tea from £24.50 served every day with £3 Friday Saturday and Sunday surcharge.
